ASCO's Leadership Development Program (LDP) in Central and Eastern Europe identifies and prepares leaders in oncology with essential skills to make a lasting impact within institutions, across the region, and throughout ASCO.
During this one-year program, participants will:
Enhance leadership skills through interactive training sessions with an expert leadership instructor.
Receive coaching from mentors to support growth and development.
Engage with and learn from a group of peers.
Increase understanding and connection to ASCO initiatives.
Format
This year-long program combines (2) in-person trainings, several virtual sessions, and a collaborative learning project to build skills and foster co-learning with a network of peers.
ASCO encourages application submissions from all practice settings and oncology subspecialties. (12) finalists will be accepted to participate.
Application Guidelines
Please review the 2026-27 ASCO LDP: Central and Eastern Europe Request for Applications (RFA).
Applications that do not meet the requirements outlined in the RFA will not be considered for the program; therefore, we strongly encourage all applicants to thoroughly review the document prior to submission.
Eligibility Criteria
ASCO’s Central and Eastern Europe Regional Council reserves the right to evaluate and determine applicants’ eligibility based on the information and justifications included in the RFA.
For the 2026-27 program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Be a current ASCO member. (Non-members must submit a membership application before initiating the LDP application.)
Be a physician practicing in oncology or clinical care of cancer patients and hold an MD, DO, MBBS, MBBCh, or other equivalent degree.
Practice in a Central and Eastern Europe eligible country: Albania, Belarus, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, Moldova, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, or Ukraine.
5-10 years since completing oncology specialization training.
Be able to commit to and attend all required LDP program sessions and components.
Demonstrate English language fluency in written and oral communication.
