2026-2027 FDA/ASCO Fellows' Day Workshop

Description

The workshop is offered on three different dates. While the content is identical across all sessions, you may choose the format and date that best fits your schedule. Participants may choose to apply to participate in ONE of the following:

  • IN-PERSON Workshop on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 – Hosted at ASCO Headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia 
    • 9:00AM - 3:00PM ET – Topics to be covered include common challenges in oncology drug development, clinical trial design, endpoints, and disease-specific considerations.
    • 3:00PM- 3:30PM ET – Optional FDA Oncology Center of Excellence (OCE) Careers Sessions: A Day in the Life of an FDA Oncologist
  • VIRTUAL Workshop on Wednesday, January 27, 2027 Online on Zoom
    • 10:00AM – 3:30PM ET - Topics to be covered include drug regulation, expanded access programs, disease-specific considerations, and common challenges in oncology drug development.
    • 3:30PM – 4:00PM ET - Optional FDA Oncology Center of Excellence (OCE) Careers Sessions: A Day in the Life of an FDA Oncologist 
  • IN-PERSON Workshop on Tuesday, April 20, 2027 – Hosted at ASCO Headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia 
    • 9:00AM - 3:00PM ET – Topics to be covered include common challenges in oncology drug development, clinical trial design, endpoints, and disease-specific considerations.
    • 3:00PM- 3:30PM ET – Optional FDA Oncology Center of Excellence (OCE) Careers Sessions: A Day in the Life of an FDA Oncologist

If selected for one of the in-person workshops, ASCO will provide a reimbursement of up to $500 to defray the costs of transportation and one night of lodging for fellows. No reimbursement or stipend will be offered for the virtual option.

Eligibility: Oncology trainees who will have completed at least 1-year of oncology subspecialty training (i.e., medical oncology, hematology oncology, pediatric oncology, radiation oncology, gynecological oncology, surgical oncology, neuro-oncology) at the time of the workshop. Preference will be given to trainees in their final year of training.
